In a time of unprecedented crisis, when young people have been living through a worldwide pandemic, uprisings for racial justice, and drastic budget cuts, it is imperative that Albany take up the charge to meet the needs of youth of color, especially Black cisgender and transgender girls.
The State of Black Girls Report raises critical issues including the need for educational equity, ending criminalization and sexual abuse, and the elimination of sexist and racist labels like “incorrigible” from state law.
