GGE Releases “Hey, That’s Not Ok”, An Ending Gender-Based Violence Resource Booklet

A “Public Access Design” project with the Center for Urban Pedagogy, “Hey, that’s not okay” is a booklet that breaks down what gender-based violence is, how to report it, where to get support, and the importance of creating cultures of consent. With the help of GGE’s Sisters in Strength youth program participants and designer Luisa Velez, we created something that talks about the shared experiences of students in the hope that they feel heard and have the tools to seek the support they need.

This collaborative project builds off of our School Girls Deserve Report, a Participatory Research Project, where public school students of color identified a variety of ways that NYC can foster school climates that are safe and affirming.
